LCweb products to be unlisted on CodeCanyon

Dear customers, this article is to update you on a crucial and historic moment in LCweb history.
If you read June’s newsletter about the WordPress plugins updates policy change, you should know about the Envato Marketplace status and the reasons leading to that decision.

I knew it could infringe some CodeCanyon author rules, but, as will be explained below, the LCweb business path has become increasingly clear and unavoidably shaped by the numbers since the LCweb Shop launch in August 2024.      

A bit of context about the decision

Because of the Marketplace “abandonment” by Envato and the fool not-exclusive-author rate (only 45% of the price you paid on Envato in the last 12 months is cashed), the trend has been unidirectional.

• September 2024: Envato represented 47% of the overall income
• March 2025: Envato represented 22% of the overall income
• August 2025: Envato represented 10% of the overall income

If these numbers are not enough to show how serious the situation is: in the past 3 months Envato incomes were barely enough to pay one-third of the yearly Italian taxes.  

What the unlisting will entail

Even if updates are now only given through the LCweb Licenses Hub (for Envato customers), products were kept on CodeCanyon to give customers an alternative. Even with expensive prices (due to the not-exclusive rate), few extra-EU customers still preferred to pay in USD on there.

After a month of discussions with Envato, after they confirmed the marketplace won’t receive substantial changes in the near future, I was forced to make a decision and opted to unlist LCweb WordPress products. This is the fairest approach I could take towards old customers even if I will surely won’t get advantages out of this:

• Licenses will still be valid. You will still be able to use them on your websites
• License certificate will still be downloadable in the Downloads page
• Support entitlements will still be honored, following the purchases made in the past months
• WILL NOT be possible to purchase new licenses or extend the support entitlement on CodeCanyon anymore.
  To extend old licenses you will need to replace it with a LCweb Shop license

LCweb products are now exclusively available on the LCweb Shop
