Say hello to LCweb Shop!

Dear customers,
I am super thrilled to kick-off a new chapter in LCweb’s history. Took much more than expected: 9 months of relentless work, but finally today the LCweb Shop sails!

A short recap: born as italian web-agency back in 2011, the following year LCweb has become synonymous of world-class WordPress Plugins. While I am typing these words, more than 48.000 certified customers purchased an LCweb product on Envato. Yeah, has been a hell of a ride to become one of the most successful authors in Envato’s history!

A lot of time passed, a lot of things happened and Envato changed too: prioritizing Envato Elements and the not-supported low-quality it contains to get an higher income instead of investing on the marketplace.

Year after year became evident their pay-once-get-all license was not sustainable in the long term. Software is a live thing and must be continuously managed. A single payment cannot cover these costs and the inevitable abuse people do without any control. In the past two years many big developers left the market or stopped supporting their products, creating a vicious loop.

This situation led to an inevitable end: Envato was sold to ShutterStock.

Is the marketplace going to close soon? Will your purchased licenses be lost? Nobody has an answer to this. Their future business plan is quite clear: keep Elements and slowly turn-off the marketplace.

Sensing how things were going and since LCweb is not a mere startup born to follow trends and abandon customers when financial side is not profitable anymore, I decided to go all-in, launching a shop to keep my products and customers safe.

Every bit I developed in the past 12 years has been involved in this huge project. A new powerful server, a revamped website and many many other sytems under the hood.

The new shop licenses follow the actual industry standard with a yearly recurring payment to get support and automated updates. In the end you will probably notice a price decrease compared to the 6-months term Envato applies and, in any case, you can opt-out license subscriptions anytime.

There’s still a lot to be done, but soon I can finally go back to products development.
